This event celebrates the publication of Gigi Ot\u00e1lvaro\u2019s Erotic Resistance: The Struggle for the Soul of San Francisco (University of California Press), Kellen Hoxworth\u2019s Transoceanic Blackface: Empire, Race, Performance (Northwestern University Press), Sukanya Chakrabarti\u2019s In-Between Worlds: Performing [as] Bauls in an Age of Extremism (Routledge), and Kari Barclay\u2019s Directing Desire: Intimacy Choreography and Consent in the Twenty-First Century.<\/p>\n

Moderated by TAPS Professor Samer Al-Saber, the authors will describe their books and share their remarkable contributions to the field, demonstrating the breadth of their scholarship and the constantly expanding borders of Theater and Performance Studies.
