October 9, 2014.<\/h4>\n<p>In her talk on 9 Oct 2014, Sukanya will ask, \u201cWho are the Bauls?\u201d<\/p>\n<h3><a href=\"http:\/\/youtu.be\/x4j58fLhN9U\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Click here to view a Video Snippet<\/a><\/h3>\n<hr id=\"system-readmore\" \/>\n<p>We kick off the first of this year&#8217;s talks at the Center for South Asia\u2019s Graduate Brown Bag Series with Sukanya Chakrabarti&#8217;s \u201cPerforming [as] Bauls: Reimagining Performance, Identity and Spatiality Between Tradition and Modernity.\u201d A doctoral candidate at the Department of Theater and Performance Studies, Stanford, Sukanya&#8217;s research includes the spiritual and therapeutic possibilities of theater and performance, religion, rituals, folklore, gender studies, and multiculturalism. At the CSA Graduate Brown Bag Series, grad students will present their work and receive feedback from their peers and professors, all while enjoying a delicious lunch provided by CSA.
